Falando o mais rápido que posso (com muitas xícaras de café)

Eu passei toda a minha adolescência alimentando meu vício por café e assistindo os episódios da série Gilmore Girls. Cresci inspirada pelas garotas Gilmore, que enfrentavam os dilemas da vida com humor, estilo, livros e muitas doses de café. Não podia estar mais animada quando soube da estreia do revival em novembro do ano passado e do lançamento do livro “Falando o mais rápido que posso: de Gilmore Girls a Gilmore Girls e tudo no meio do caminho”, da Lauren Graham, atriz famosa por interpretar o papel de Lorelai Gilmore na série.

Mesmo com toda essa empolgação, eu estava um pouco desconfiada antes de ler o livro. Sempre existe esse medo de conhecer o seu ídolo e de se desapontar. Mas ao começar as primeiras páginas, já soube que isso não ia acontecer. A obra compila diversas histórias da vida da atriz. Lauren fala sobre seus primeiros anos de carreira, as dificuldades no amor e como foi assumir o papel de Lorelai Gilmore e depois retornar à série.

Tenho certeza de que vocês vão rir junto com a Lauren quando ela contar a história de quando foi um modelo de bunda. Vocês vão aprender muito com a atriz como, por exemplo, quando souberem do método infalível para não procrastinar se for escrever um livro (técnica muito boa também para a realização de projetos) e terão certeza da importância de se ter princípios no desenvolvimento da carreira. Por fim, vocês também vão concordar e perguntar-se o mesmo que a Lauren conversou com a própria Amy Palladino (criadora da série Gilmore Girls) sobre o último episódio do revival: será que aquelas quatro últimas palavras indicam mesmo um final? Não parece um gancho?

E depois que vocês terminarem o livro, irão sentir como se a Lauren fosse uma grande amiga. E vocês ficarão ansiosos para ler o primeiro livro dela, o romance “Quem sabe um dia”. Pelo menos foi como eu me senti.

Talking as Fast as I Can (with many cups of coffee)

I spent my entire teens feeding my cafe addiction and watching the episodes of Gilmore Girls. I grew up inspired by the Gilmore girls, who faced the dilemmas of life with humor, style, books and lots of coffee. I could not be more excited when I heard of the revival debut in last November and the launch of “Talking as Fast as I Can: from Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and everything in between)” by Lauren Graham, famous actress for playing the role of Lorelai Gilmore in the series.

Even with all this excitement, I was a bit suspicious before reading the book. There is always this fear of knowing your idol and of being disappointed. But when I started the first few pages, I knew this was not going to happen. The book compiles several stories from the life of the actress. Lauren talks about her early career, the difficulties in love and how it was to play the role of Lorelai Gilmore and then return to the series.

I’m sure you’ll laugh along with Lauren when she tells you the story of when she was a butt model. You will learn a lot from the actress, for example, when you know the infallible method of not procrastinating if you’re writing a book (also a very good technique for other types of projects), and you will be sure of the importance of having principles in career development. Finally, you will also agree and ask yourself the same thing that Lauren talked to Amy Palladino (creator of the Gilmore Girls series) about the last episode of the revival: do those last four words really indicate an ending? Or does it look like an open ending?

And after you finish the book, you will feel like Lauren was a great friend. And you’ll be eager to read her first book, the “Someday, Someday, Maybe” novel. At least it was how I felt.
